MAKE GE PAY
After having recently demolished the only bridge that was used to access the Boston’s main homeless shelter and resource center (making the center inaccessible and displacing hundreds of homeless) the city offered tax breaks and build a commuter bridge as a part of corporate incentives to General Electric. No plans to rebuild the bridge to access the homeless center nor offer sufficient alternative care for the homeless population were proposed.
Made in partnership with homeless rights activists in the Boston, MA area including COPE, Spare Change, the Homeless Rights Coalition and Center for Civic Media, MIT (through the course The Future of Participatory Media, taught by Ethan Zuckerman). (2015)
